The children have enjoyed some sunny weather this week and have enjoyed learning outdoors. We are constantly reinforcing our letter formation, particularly the anticlockwise formation of letters /c/ /o/ /a/ /d/ /g/. We have been practising this with pens, pencils, chalk, paint, shaving foam and water and brushes. The shaving foam as particularly enjoyable!
We have had some interesting discussions about what the children would like to do in the future. We thought about what skills the children are learning in school to support this. Their writing is on display in the corridor outside the classroom – please come and have a look at Parents Evening.
The names and properties of 3D shapes have been the focus of our maths group times. As the week has progressed the children are much more able to use mathematical vocabulary such as corners, faces, vertices and the names of the shapes.
