I can roll the clay to make a coil pot

Purpose:

40-60 EAD Manipulates materials to achieve a planned effect.

ELG EAD They safely use and explore a variety of materials, tools and techniques, experimenting with colour, design, texture, form and function.

How can you help at home?

·         Make playdough at home – add different smells and colours

·         Use plasticine to create 3D shapes – be, cuboid, faces, vertices

Key vocabulary: roll, sausage, coil, twist
Inclusion sports – Boccia

Purpose:

40-60 PD Shows increasing control over an object in pushing, patting, throwing, catching or kicking it

ELG PD Children know the importance for good health of physical exercise, and a healthy diet, and talk about ways to keep healthy and safe.

How can you help at home?

·         Shopping – involve them in choosing food for the week

·         Go out for a walk – see the bluebells!

·         Keep a food diary – talk about their healthy choices

Key vocabulary: activity, healthy, sport

Bridge Building

Purpose:

40-60 EAD Constructs with a purpose in mind, using a variety of resources.

40-60 PD Handles tools, objects, construction and malleable materials safely and with increasing control.

ELG UW They talk about the features of their own immediate environment and how environments might vary from one

another.

ELG PD   Children show good control and co-ordination in large and small movements.

How can you help at home?

·         Use straws and sellotape to build a bridge

·         Read the 3 Billy Goats Gruff.

·         Retell or act out the story – perhaps using props or masks

Austin’s Butterfly – 2nd draft

Purpose:

40-60 EAD Creates simple representations of events, people and objects.

40-60 C&L Uses talk to organise, sequence and clarify thinking, ideas, feelings and events.

ELG C&L They develop their own narratives and explanations by connecting ideas or events.

ELG EAD They represent their own ideas, thoughts and feelings through design and technology, art, music, dance, role play and stories..

How can you help at home?

·         Symmetrical patterns

·         Draw a picture together – critique each other concentrating on one element of the drawing
